| What is a catch-all email account? A catch-all
email account is an email address that is specified to receive all email
that is addressed to an incorrect email address for a domain. For example,
if you have three email addresses set up for mydomain.com:
info@mydomain.com
sales@mydomain.com
support@domain.com
And you set up info@mydomain.com as a catch-all email account, any
email messages sent to service@mydomain.com (an invalid email address) or
suprt@mydomain.com (a misspelled email address), are sent to the catch-all
account (info@mydomain.com).
You can set up one email address as a catch-all account per domain
name.
Be careful! The disadvantage of catchall email accounts is that
spammers will reach you much easier than if you have only a set few email
accounts set up on your web server. Email harvesting programs will try
many default email aliases such as info@, sales@, support@, admin@; as
well as popular names such as john@.
